“I find that this period in history is one of reflection. The 30th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights come at a particular time.
A time where the progress achieved so far can be examined and the work that needs to be done can be evaluated. Whilst we need to acknowledge the progress made I believe this progress is definitely not enough. In a continent that leads the world on numerous fronts, huge challenges for children still remain.”
