Ambassador Ana María de León de Alba presented her credentials to President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at The Palace, in Valletta.
During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations.
Ambassador De León de Alba was born on January 30, 1969 in Panama City, and graduated from the Santa María la Antigua University in Panama, and the International Psychotherapy Institute in Washington DC.
She is a clinical psychologist with postgraduate studies in individual and group psychotherapy, with experience in executive and professional management of human resources and project management.
Ambassador De León de Alba is a specialist in the design of corporate learning strategies, organisational development, leadership development, change management, talent management and diversity, with experience in implementing them in Asia, Europe, Africa and America, and has worked for 12 years at the Royal Dutch Shell Company, where she was awarded the Vice President of Human Resources several times for contributions in the areas of cost control, learning and development at a regional and global level.
Her professional experience has been developed in multinational companies with global operations and, recently, in the public sector as Executive Director of the Office of the First Lady of the Republic of Panama, Lorena Castillo de Varela. In this role, Ambassador De León de Alba had the opportunity to implement projects aimed at the eradication of poverty and the improvement of the quality of life of the countries aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Government Plan of President Juan Carlos Varela Rodríguez. She actively participated in the Social Cabinet, the National Council for HIV and the National Council for Early Childhood, technically representing the Office of the First Lady.
