The Ambassador of Japan Keiichi Katakami presented his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at The Palace, in Valletta.
During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations.
Ambassador Keiichi Katakami was born in 1954 in Japan. He graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law.
He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1980, assumed important posts among which Minister at Embassy of Japan in the United States of America, Deputy Director-General for European Affairs, Director-General for Economic Affairs, Ambassador to Ghana, Ambassador to the European Union, and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and also served as G7 and G20 Sherpa.
