The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark presents his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca

 

Today, Mr Erik Vilstrup Lorenzen presented his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at The Palace, in Valletta.

 

During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations.

 

In 2016 Ambassador Erik Vilstrup Lorenzen was appointed Ambassador to Italy and Malta and Permanent Representative to UN-organisations in Rome FAO, WFP and IFAD.

 

Ambassador Erik Vilstrup Lorenzen was appointed Undersecretary for Arctic Affairs for the Kingdom of Denmark and Senior Arctic Official in Arctic Council in 2013. From 2009 to 2013 he served as Danish Ambassador to Canada.

 

Prior to this from 2006 to 2009 he was the Chief Advisor to then Prime Minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, on European Union matters and appointed personal representative to the Prime Minister in the negotiations on the EU Lisbon Treaty.

 

In 2005, Lorenzen worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Head of Department of EU Policy. In 2003 he was Head of Department of Policy Planning in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

Lorenzen has held previous postings at the Danish Embassy in London, and at the EU-representation in Brussels.

 

Erik Vilstrup Lorenzen has a degree in political science from the University of Aarhus in Denmark, and has studied political science and journalism in the U.S.

 

Erik Vilstrup Lorenzen is married and has two sons.
