The Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina presents his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca

 

On the 22nd November 2016, Mr Arnaldo Tomás Ferrari presented his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at The Palace, in Valletta.

 

During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations.

 

Ambassador Tomás Ferrari was born on December 21, 1956, in Buenos Aires. He is married to Nhu Anh Nguyen, and they have two daughters.

 

He is a graduated in Political Science and International Relations from the Universidad del Salvador (Buenos Aires), and has an MA in Public Administration from Harvard University. He is a native Spanish speaker, and fluent in English, French, Portuguese and Italian.

 

A career diplomat, he entered the Argentine Diplomatic Service in 1980. He served in New Delhi (1983-1988), the General Department of International Organizations and the Protocol Department of the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before becoming Private Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and later, Chief of the Private Secretariat of the Minister of Economy, Public Works and Services (1990-1996). In 2000 Ferrari was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, until 2009, when he was nominated Deputy Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Amb. Ferrari was Argentine General Consul in Mumbai, India (2011-2016), and since April 2016 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Italian Republic.

 

Mr Ferrari has been bestowed with the Orden de Rio Branco (Brazil) and the Orden del Libertador (Venezuela).
