The Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia Jasen Mesić presented his credentials to President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at the Presidential Palace in Valletta.
During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations.
Ambassador Jasen Mesić was born in 1972 in Zagreb in Croatia. In 1996, he graduated in archaeology and history from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zagreb. In 2004, he earned a Master’s degree in Cultural Management from the Consortium of the University of Florence, Bologna and Siena. In 2002, he obtained a degree from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.
He held various positions at the Ministry of Culture between 1999 and 2010 including: Administrative Officer, State Officer, Assistant Minister of Culture and Cultural Heritage and State Secretary. He then went on to serve as the Minister of Culture of the Government of the Republic of Croatia between 2010 and 2011, and was also a member of the Croatian Parliament during its 7th, 8th and 9th terms between 2011 and 2017.
Since October 2017, he has served as the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Italian Republic, with non-resident accreditation to Malta and San Marino.
