Goran Aleksic presented his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at The Palace, in Valletta.
During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations.
Goran Aleksic is a Serbian career diplomat. He held a number of positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, including Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Head of the Sector for Bilateral Cooperation, Head of Europe Department, Head of Russia and Eurasia Department, Chief of Diplomatic Protocol, Deputy Head of Multilateral Economic Department. He was, as well, the Ambassador of Serbia to Ukraine and Moldova and previously had held the position at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Greece. Since October 2017, he has served as the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Italian Republic, with non-resident accreditation to Malta and San Marino.
Mr Aleksic graduated from the Faculty of Law and attained a M.A. degree in International Commercial Law at Belgrade University. He attended the Advanced Management Program 177 from Harvard University and the Specialist Course at Vienna Diplomatic Academy.
He is fluent in English, Italian and Russian and is married to Mrs Svitlana Zorina.
