The Ambassador of the State of Israel to Malta presents his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca

 

Mr Eyal Sela presented his credentials to the President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca at The Palace, in Valletta.

 

During the ceremony, the President of Malta and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations.

 

Born in January 1965, Eyal Sela was raised in Hadera, Israel.  He graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a BA in Political Science and International Relations. He also obtained a post graduate degree in Political Science at Haifa University. He studied national defense at the Israel National Defense College.

 

Ambassador Eyal Sela joined the Israeli Foreign Service in 1990. Since then he has occupied various positions in the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem including second secretary in the Department for International Cooperation (1991), Director of the Diplomatic Training Course (1997-1999), Director of the North American Department for Congressional Affairs (2004-2007) and Senior Diplomatic Advisor to the Planning Directorate of the Israeli Defense Forces (2013-2016).

 

Ambassador Sela has also Been Second Secretary and Consul at the Israeli Embassy in Guatemala City (1992-1995), First Secretary in the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC and alternate observer of Israel to the Organization of American States (1995-1997), Counsellor for political affairs at the Israeli Embassy in Madrid (1999-2004) and the Ambassador of Israel in Quito, Ecuador (2007-2012).

 

Ambassador Eyal Sela speaks Hebrew, English and Spanish. He is married and has three daughters.
