President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca received the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Witold Waszczykowsi, on a courtesy call at The Palace, Valletta.
During the meeting President Coleiro Preca commented on the fact that both Malta and Poland have a number of commonalities which give much scope for further exploration of different areas of collaboration, such as tourism and education, which can only strengthen the relations between both countries.
Both the President and the Minister positively remarked how tourism between the two countries is constantly increasing. They also discussed the current challenges being faced by countries in the Mediterranean and European region, with particular focus on the thousands of child migrants who go missing in Europe.
